NO LAGER – BREAK ISOLATION!
Anti-racist conference on the struggle for equal rights

More than 300 people from over 60 cities and more than 50 self-organized and anti-racist groups and initiatives met from June 10-12, 2022 in Göttingen for the NO LAGER – BREAK ISOLATION! Conference to exchange experiences, challenges, strategies and actions against Lager and against the rascist deportation practice in Germany. The central message: We are ready to fight against the Lagersystem and for housing for all. Against any deportation and for the right to come, to go and to stay.

The goal of the conference was to come together again after almost 2 ½ years of Corona pandemic, to connect anti-racist struggles, to network and to seek an expression for common actions and strategies. For this purpose, there were workshops and working groups for the abolition of all Lager, anti-deportation struggles and the networking of self-organization of refugees and migrants.

One thing is certain: Against the background of racist continuities, the exclusion and unequal treatment of refugees in Germany, the continuing deadly policy of foreclosure in EUrope, from the Mediterranean and Belarus to Suhl, the problem is racism.

The reception of refugee Ukrainians shows that a different policy is possible. No Lager is not only a critique of a form of accommodation, but also stands symbolically for the protest against Lager structures – against politics that are characterized by isolation and deterrence.

“Everywhere in Germany we are already resisting this racist exclusion. We prevent deportations, organize sleeping places and put political pressure on those responsible. Just the fact that we are meeting today with over 300 people from all over Germany shows that we exist,” said Emmanuel from Freiburg in his opening speech.

“We have come together here to find solutions and strategies for the problem of pervasive racism. Racism in Germany and EUrope is systemic and the Federal German Lager system has a long and brutal history. But we will not tire of fighting against this racism and for equal rights,” explains Behnam Blumengarten about the situation in German Lager and announces: “See you at the commemorative events and the demonstration on August 27th. on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the racist pogroms in Rostock-Lichtenhagen. We’ll come united!”

Antirassistische Konferenz zum Kampf für gleiche Rechte

Mehr als 300 Menschen aus über 60 Städten und mehr als 50 selbstorganisierte und antirassistische Gruppen und Initiativen haben sich vom 10.-12. Juni 2022 in Göttingen zur NO LAGER – BREAK ISOLATION! Konferenz getroffen, um sich zu Erfahrungen, Herausforderungen, Strategien und Aktionen gegen Lager und gegen die rassistische Abschiebepraxis in der Bundesrepublik auszutauschen. Die zentrale Botschaft: Wir sind bereit, gegen das Lagersystem und für Wohnungen für Alle zu kämpfen. Gegen jede Abschiebung und für das Recht zu kommen, zu gehen und zu bleiben.

Ziel der Konferenz war es, nach fast 2 ½ Jahren Corona-Pandemie wieder zusammen zu kommen, antirassistische Kämpfe zu verbinden, sich zu vernetzen und einen Ausdruck für gemeinsame Aktionen und Strategien zu suchen. Dazu gab es Workshops und Arbeitsgruppen für die Abschaffung aller Lager, Anti-Abschiebekämpfe und die Vernetzung von Selbstorganisation von Geflüchteten und Migrant:innen.

Dabei steht fest: Vor dem Hintergrund rassistischer Kontinuitäten, der Ausgrenzung und Ungleichbehandlung von Geflüchteten in der Bundesrepublik, der weiterhin tödlichen Abschottungspolitik EUropas, vom Mittelmeer, über Belarus bis nach Suhl, das Problem heißt Rassismus.

Der Umgang mit geflüchteten Ukrainer*innen zeigt, dass eine andere Aufnahmepolitik möglich ist. No Lager ist nicht nur die Kritik an einer Unterbringungsform, sondern steht sinnbildlich für den Protest gegen Lagerstrukturen – gegen eine Politik, die geprägt ist von Abschottung und Abschreckung.

„Überall in Deutschland widersetzen wir uns bereits dieser rassistischen Ausgrenzung. Wir verhindern Abschiebungen, organisieren Schlafplätze und machen politisch Druck auf die Verantwortlichen. Allein, dass wir uns heute mit über 300 Leuten aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet treffen, zeigt, dass es uns gibt,“ sagt Emmanuel aus Freiburg in seiner Eröffnungsrede.

„Wir sind hier zusammengekommen, um Lösungen und Strategien für das Problem des grassierenden Rassismus zu finden. Rassismus in Deutschland und EUropa hat System und das bundesdeutsche Lagersystem hat eine lange und brutale Geschichte. Doch wir werden nicht müde, gegen diesen Rassismus und für gleiche Rechte zu kämpfen.“ erklärt Behnam Blumengarten zur Situation in bundesdeutschen Lagern und kündigt an: „Wir sehen uns zu den Gedenkveranstaltungen und der Demonstration am 27. August 2022 anlässlich des 30. Jahrestages der rassistischen Pogrome in Rostock-Lichtenhagen. We’ll come united!“
